Our site appeals especially to those interested in genealogy. The timelines
themselves are particularly useful and appropriate to improve and extend genealogical
context - there is literally no better overall mechanism existing for bringing an
ancestor into focus than our custom timelines.
The custom timeline technology and concepts are wholly protected by copyright law,
and so this site is, and will remain, the only source for these unique and powerful
pages. Because they are free for our visitors to use, you can count on the maximum
amount of traffic, including repeat traffic as people return to obtain timelines
for additional members of their family trees.
Future Developments
The historical database for the timelines themselves is under constant
development and revision, and there are additional features that will
become active on the site within the 3rd quarter of 2000. These features
will increase both the usefulness and the flexibility of the generated
timelines.
Visitor Demographic Profile
The demographics of those interested in genealogy are almost uniformly
those of a group which has:
- At least some spare time - genealogy is quite time consuming.
- A moderate to significant amount of disposable income (due to age bracket.)
- An interest (obviously...) in genealogical pursuits.

When you place a banner on OurTimeLines.com, you'll receive access to real-time banner statistics pages that give you a birds-eye view of your campaign. You get two full weeks of display, click-through and click-through-ratio on a day by day basis on the statistics page, as well as summary statistics.
When you run a multiple-banner campaign, you get statistics pages for each banner, so you can see how their performance compares. Naturally, that can help you create the most effective banner campaign possible.
Banner Specifications
Maximum banner byte-heft is 25k (more than double the
industry standard 10k!) Banners may be GIF stills, GIF animations or JPEG
stills. GIF animations must contain complete looping controls; we do not loop
your animations for you. Banner pixel resolution is 468 x 60. You
may have up to 5 different banners at no extra charge, and these banners
may have differing "target pages" on your web site. The use of
"door" pages is strongly encouraged so you may track the
effectiveness of each banner independently.
