This conflict was between the Zulu (Nguni tribes) and
the English.
The Zulu lost this conflict.
Zulu was the name given to the Nguni as organized under a
leader name Chakka in the North-east of Natal.
Chakka began to form the Zulu in 1810,
and by 1818 the Zulu were an empire, and one to be
reckoned with. The Zulu empire fielded more than ten
warrior armies, fearsome phalanxes that traveled
up to 64 kilometers in a day and fought with no quarter
once reaching the battlefield. The warriors primarily fought
with light spears called assegais.
Chakka was murdered in 1828, yet the empire he had created
continued until 1887, when it was annexed by the English.
